Meet Joe, Meg, and Teresa owners of 219 Taproom in Downtown Chesterton. 219 Taproom offers a unique experience of specialty craft beers, good food, live events, and community givebacks.
“…we know it’s a great place to come for a good meal and a good beer.” Said Joe in his interview with Lynda Anderson owner of Boulder Bay Realty Group, and founder of the Lynda Anderson Team. “We love our craft beer. We also created really good food to go along with the beer.”
They offer an assortment of appetizers, flatbreads, sandwiches, and even tacos. But it’s their beer that really steals the show. Their craft beer comes from carefully selected breweries all across Indiana. Meg explains, “…every beer that you see on our menu is not available in Northwest Indiana, except for here.” 219 Taproom truly is a one-of-a-kind establishment.
They also host a number of live events on the weekend, and they take the time to support local organizations on their Giving Thursdays.
Giving Thursdays are a way for 219 to give back and help support their local community. “ …we have a different cause for each Thursday and all tips that are generated, cash or credit card, go to that cause.” Said Teresa. “…we raise some pretty good money.” The owners are usually the ones that cover the Giving Thursday shifts, so no employee has to give up their tips.
